With 86 mammals, 420 bird species and 105 species of trees recorded, there is little left to be desired for nature lovers. As well as the Big 5, the Madikwe Game Reserve also features a healthy population of cheetah and the endangered wild dog. The game rangers at Tuningi Safari Lodge are highly qualified and have sound knowledge of the fauna and flora within the reserve and convey this passion and knowledge to guests during game drives.

Situated near the Botswana border, in South Africa’s Madikwe Game Reserve, Tuningi Safari Lodge can be reached by car from Johannesburg in 4.5 hours. For those with a wider budget, who wish to experience an exhilarating fly-in safari, Federal Airlines operates scheduled 45-minute charters from OR Tambo to Madikwe Game Reserve. The lodge is a 20-minute complimentary transfer from the strip.
